According to the Uganda Police, Sydney Nsubuga has confessed to killing Ugandan gay rights activist David Kato in his home in Mukono last week. Nsubuga had, according to the story, been having an affair with Kato and killed him in anger when the latter failed to give him the glittering presents he had promised. (h/t MadPriest)

Oh dear. I feel really crushed by this. I am in tears and feeling like the world is a very sick place without justice and knowing that I am a sinner too. Lord Have Mercy. Going to pray now... perhaps things will be brighter in the morning.

A cover up? I bet the Ugandan authorities want to deflect from the idea it's a hate crime spurred by homophobia.
Despicable.
So much darkness and hard to know where is truth... prayer is that place where we find hope and peace for our own souls too.
Oh yes, ¨glittering gifts¨ that a Hollywood mogul might promise a raising star--but, really, let´s get REAL HERE, don´t you believe a word of this junktalk-- Anglican David Kato was no saint but he was deathly afraid of being murdered because he´d just received yet another threat the day before he was bludgeoned to death in his under-construction little home--hardly the life and times of for promising ¨glittering gifts¨ for a couple of days roll in the hay--however, just the kind of sordid nonsense that David Bahati and his ¨Kill the Gays¨ law lynchmen (literally) suck right up. Most likely the ¨glitter for Sydney Nsubuga will be coming later -- no doubt poor Sydney will hit the jackpot after a short sentence for being the victim of ¨Western Imported¨ homosexuality--odd, why are Ugandan heterosexuals aledgedly sooo vulnerable to homosex in the first place? Ah yes, money talks (and speaks in hushed whispers to Sydney once again).
Please don´t turn your heads away from this injustice and abuse--even if the criminal ¨gets away with murder¨ we must look the abusers, liars and thieves in the eye.
Repulsive as the Ugandan anti-LGBTI pogrom is--people will die if we play possum or pretend.
Courage.
Lord hear our prayer
Well said, Len.
Amen to that.
Amen.
It's a plausible scenario, but it's also an almighty coincidence.
